About us

Welcome!

We are so happy you’ve found your way here! Liberated Roots Wellness is a mental health practice founded by TaQuoia Hammick (they/them) and Bridget O’Connor (they/them), two professionally and independently licensed therapists. Our mission is to create a safe and affirming space where healing and growth can thrive. As queer and BIPOC individuals ourselves, we understand the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities, and we are committed to making mental health care more accessible, inclusive, and empowering for queer and BIPOC folx.

We believe that everyone’s story is unique, and we’re here to walk alongside you as you explore and restore your roots on your journey through the next chapter of life.

TaQuoia

THEY/THEM

My experience lies in helping children and families from diverse backgrounds navigate challenges in their lives and develop the skills they need to achieve their goals. I take a collaborative approach to therapy and have worked with clients with various diagnoses including ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, trauma, PTSD, and behavioral challenges. As a Black, Queer and Non-Binary therapist I know how important it is to validate your intersectional identities and create a space that is safe, affirming, and oriented to your needs.

Certifications: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood.

THEY/THEM

My focus is on helping individuals explore their worldview, strengths, and personal meaning. I value building a deeper understanding into one’s own worldview, strengths, and meaning. I acknowledge that everyone is the expert of their own lives and aim to collaborate with individuals to foster a space to connect to their personal abilities. I bring my own self into each session with transparency and compassion. I lead with curiosity, understanding, and most importantly, humor.I have a background in working with older adults and caregivers, Queer and Trans communities, and folks that engage in community organizing.

Certifications: Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

We see our clients and ourselves as partners working together to forge a path toward healing. We aim to make our clients feel safe to work alongside us.

It is of the utmost importance to us that we respect the space and time we share. We strive to always be honest, compassionate, trustworthy, reliable and follow the highest ethical standards.
